What a difference a day makes!!

I thought I'd give a good example of how the weather works here in Utah. Yesterday we spent the afternoon raking up all of our leaves. Ainsley wanted to play in them and even asked me to take a picture of her in them. I'm glad she had me do that because here it is not even 24 hrs. later and we have about 3 inches of snow out there. So I thought I'd get a picture of her now playing in the snow. Notice how she didn't even have a jacket on in the leaves, but now she's totally decked out in snow gear!

Halloween Fun

This year for Halloween Ainsley was a zombie and McKenzie was a character out of a book series she and her friends have been reading called Lightning Thief. All of her friends dressed in the same orange shirts that she has on. On their backs were the names of whatever Greek god was their immortal parent. I'm going to have to read it myself to understand!

Here are their pumpkins they carved too. Kenz went all out this year it took her about 4 hrs. to draw and carve her Transformer insignia!

We also went to Ainsley's sixth grade carnival where she and her classmates had to come up with a carnival game and run it like a business. They had to keep track of their money (tickets) and all of the money earned went to help fund the sixth grade activities and field trips. The girls decided to spend some of their tickets on getting their faces painted.....here you go!

Surprise

Mondays are my long days at school. I leave at 7 am and don't get done until 4:30. So yesterday I was pleasantly surprised when I got done with school to find that Bryan had driven up to campus, found my car, and placed roses and a card on the drivers seat!! All just because too!! Gotta love that man!

Halloween Cookies

Today Ainsley and I made Halloween cookies. It's kind of a tradition. But this year I didn't check my food coloring before making the frosting. I only had about 1drop of red left so I made a very light orange for the pumpkins. Then we decided to try to make a purple for the cats and bats but I added too much blue to the light orange and well you can see what we got. Ainsley wanted to do the sprinkles and ended up using 3/4 of the jar on these 2 pans of cookies! Oh well they still tasted good!!

Labor Day 2009

I will start with Labor Day 2009. Bryan was working so I decided to take the girls hiking to get out of the house. We packed 3 bottles of water and a few snacks and headed to the Waterfall Canyon trail in Ogden. We got about 3/4 of the way up the canyon when McKenzie started complaining of her heart hurting and I was getting pooped too! We were also already running low on water. Ainsley was the only one wanting to continue because she really wanted to see the waterfall at the end of the hike. While letting Kenz rest I decided to kind throw a bribe in to see if Ainsley would go for it. After all of this hiking and exercising for over an hour, I said "Why don't we turn around and go get ice cream?" Yep that did it! Artic Circle here we come!
